Direct Response Checklist

A couple of times per year, I like to post my Direct Response Checklist. I keep a copy of this laminated and in front of me whenever I am creating, optimizing, or reviewing any type of marketing.

There are essentially two types of marketing – 

  1. Brand / image based marketing where the goal is to create an impression with your client or prospect.  Large companies spend a lot of money here because they want to be “top of mind” when someone is making a buying decision.
  2. Direct Response marketing where the goal is to illicit a specific response from your client or prospect. If your goal is to increase top line revenue, this type of marketing should be your focus.

Use this checklist to review your current marketing efforts. This could include your website, digital ad strategy, direct mail, texts, emails, etc. You can even review the marketing that is put in front of you each day – online, in your mailbox, on TV, etc.

The more items that are done on this checklist, the more successful you will be creating additional top line sales.
