Changing with the Seasons
Mar 03, 2025 In most parts of the U.S., the changes of seasons that occur in both the spring and the fall account for the largest spikes in sales for our drycleaning companies.
Now is the time to start planning to optimize your marketing in a way that will make that spike in sales this spring be as great as possible.
It is much easier to get prospects and clients to use your service more when they are already in a season when your services are most highly demanded. It is very difficult to create demand, but much easier to harness demand that already exists.
Here are a few tips:
- Re-engaging out of pattern or lost clients is the low hanging fruit when marketing your dry cleaning company. You can call, text, email, send a video embedded in an email, or send direct mail using a postcard or personal letter.
- Make sure to remind clients to clean their winter clothes in the spring before putting them away in storage. Insects like moths and silverfish are actually attracted to stains, not the fabric they must cut through to get to the stains. Eliminate the stains before storing the winter wear.
- Spring Cleaning is an activity motivated by nice weather, and the end of winter. Don’t forget to push household items like comforters, sheet sets, pillow rejuvenation, drapes, curtains, rugs, blankets, patio cushions, and throw pillows.
- Consider an appreciation event going into the Change of Season. Think of it like you are priming the pump. When you do something nice for your clients, they will reciprocate back throughout the upcoming busy season.
- Don’t throttle back your success, worried that your team might not be able to handle the added volume. They almost always can, and will step up to the challenge of lots of new clients and more business.
Start planning now, so that you can begin planting the seeds as you come out of winter. With the proper planning, you will be able to create a large harvest during the months of April, May, and June. But you must plan each of these tactics now!
Have a great week!
