I learned about the power of a good story from my mentor, Dan Kennedy. But each of us don’t have just one story. We have many stories. 
 
If you’re selling based on logic, features, or price… you’re losing.
 
Because people don’t buy facts. They buy stories.
 
Your business—big or small—needs 10 key stories to dominate your market. If you don’t have these, you’re forcing yourself to compete on price instead of powerfully positioning yourself as the ONLY choice.
 
Here they are: 

  1. Your Origin Story – The reason YOU exist. (Without this, you’re just another drycleaner.)
  2. Your Affinity Story – The personal connection you have with your customers.
  3. Your “Why” Story – The deeper reason you do what you do (beyond making a buck).
  4. Your Repeatable Legend – The short, memorable story customers can retell about you.
  5. Your Miracle Story – Your “walk-on-water” proof that turns skeptics into believers.
  6. Your Hero Story – How YOU conquer problems on behalf of your customers.
  7. Your Villain Story – The enemy you’re fighting against (industry scams, bad service, overpriced competitors).
  8. Your Claim to Fame Story – The story that sets you apart from everyone else.
  9. Your Before & After Stories – Customer transformations that make your service undeniable.
  10. Your Slice of Life Stories – Everyday moments that prove you live and breathe what you sell.

 
If you’re missing these stories in your marketing, you’re missing sales. A lot of sales!
